As part of Theme I of the Higher Education 4.0 Project, the MyCareerPath online platform has been developed to support career and learning pathways for prospective students and employers. This initiative aligns with the project’s goal to provide clear guidance on upskilling, retraining, and returning to education while fostering employability and career advancement.
Key features of MyCareerPath:
- Guidance for Individuals: Helps candidates explore learning pathways, achieve career objectives, and prepare for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).
- Support for Employers: Provides a cost-effective way to enhance employee skills, improve engagement, and promote internal career development.
- Collaborative Efforts: Works with national and international companies like Forward Emphasis International and Dornan Engineering Limited Group to support employee skill development and career clarity.
Complemented by one-to-one mentoring, the platform has proven valuable for HR and L&D departments to enhance employee development while nurturing engagement and retention.
Additionally, the ‘Progression Pathways: Further Education to Higher Education’ programme—another initiative under the Higher Education 4.0 Project funded by the Human Capital Initiative—focuses on removing barriers for students transitioning from Further Education (FE) to Higher Education (HE).
By addressing these challenges, the programme promotes equality of access and creates more opportunities for learners.
This comprehensive approach underscores the project’s commitment to lifelong learning, employability, and equitable access to education.
The Career and Learning Pathways team help employers engage with staff and motivate them to upskill. They also work with those wishing to return to education by helping them understand their strengths and find the education path that best suits them, through initiatives like Recognition of Prior Learning and MyCareerPath.
